Facial Ultrasound in Aesthetic Medicine
In the field of modern aesthetic medicine, facial ultrasound has become an indispensable tool that increases the safety and precision of procedures. This core module has been carefully designed for medical doctors and dentists who want to integrate ultrasound into their daily practice. By mastering facial ultrasound, you can improve the quality of your treatments, ensuring optimal results for your patients. The course is designed according to the highest European standards and is based on the methodology used by world leaders in ultrasound for aesthetic medicine.
Why enroll in this course?
Increase patient safety: use ultrasound to visualize facial anatomy in real time, minimizing the risks associated with injectable treatments.
Improve diagnostic accuracy: Precisely identify previous filler placements and detect possible complications, such as vascular occlusions.
Improve treatment outcomes: Customize interventions based on individual anatomical variations, leading to more predictable and satisfying results.
Stay ahead in aesthetic medicine: adopt cutting-edge techniques that set new industry standards.

The theoretical part includes:
- Basics of ultrasound technology
You will learn about the principles of ultrasound (frequency, depth, resolution, artifacts), the difference between linear and convex probes, and how to choose the appropriate settings for the face and superficial tissues.
- Sonoanatomical structure of the face
Detailed examination of facial anatomy under ultrasound – identifying skin, subcutaneous fat, muscles, fascia, blood vessels (arteries and veins)
- Visualization of dermal fillers
You will learn what different types of fillers (e.g. hyaluronic, calcium hydroxyapatite) look like on ultrasound, how to distinguish them from their own structures, and how to assess migration, degradation, or encapsulation.
- Detection of complications
The theoretical part includes an overview of the most common complications of aesthetic treatments that can be detected by ultrasound – including vascular occlusions, abscesses, granulomas, seromas, and intravascular injection.
- Ultrasound guided intervention
Fundamentals of planning and performing interventions under ultrasound control - including aspiration, hyaluronidase, accurate positioning of the needle or cannula and control of filler distribution during application.
- Prevention and management of complications:
Through theory, we go through protocols for emergency and elective situations - what to do if a vascular complication is suspected, how to deal with old fillers and how to explain the findings to the patient.
- Practical integration into clinical routine
How to incorporate ultrasound into daily practice – from initial assessment, documentation to post-procedural control, including tips for record keeping and informed consent.
Practical part of education (hands-on):
- Facial Anatomy via Ultrasound: Learn to identify key anatomical structures, including blood vessels, muscles and fat compartments.
- Filler visualization: detection and evaluation of previously injected fillers to inform treatment planning.
- Ultrasound-Guided Injections: Get hands-on experience performing ultrasound-guided injections, increasing precision and safety.
- Complication Management: Develop strategies to prevent and manage complications, using ultrasound for diagnosis and intervention.
